The sources can be selectively removed from the brandable backup program.

There are three types of sources:
  1. Local (HDD, removable, CD/DVD, USB or Firewire)
  2. Network (including mapped network drives)
  3. Predefined sources (plugins)

When the user will try to add sources from a non-allowed location, a message will be shown:

Backup2 is a suite of six fully brandable backup programs: Backup2 USB, Backup2 DVD, Backup2 FTP, Backup2 Portable, Backup2 HDD and Backup2 NET. The main difference between each of these programs is the type of destination they back-up to, as each of them stores the backup on a distinct destination.
