As the name suggests, Backup2 FTP supports as back-up destinations only remote FTP locations. This solution is ideal for hosting companies that want to start offering an online backup solution. Backup2 FTP can be customized so that it will only back-up to a specific FTP location. This way you will be sure that the data will be backed online on your servers.

What you get

We will create a customized version of Backup2 FTP that you can bundle with your hosting packages. A customized version means that you can choose exactly which features will be included in it and customize its About page and outgoing links.

The list of features that can be changed in the custom Backup2 edition (you can either keep these features or remove them to reduce the final price):

Source: HDD/Floppy, USB/Firewire, CD/DVD or Blu-ray, Predefined. Even if it can back up data from all these sources, for your custom edition you can either keep them all or only a few.
Destination: Remote FTP locations. The destination can remain as is or be restricted to allow back-ups only to specific FTP addresses to prevent users from using your custom Backup2 FTP edition with a server hosted by your competition.
Types: Full, Incremental, Differential and Mirror. All four backup types are supported and enabled by default, but you can choose which ones to keep.
Views: Brief view, Backup View, Statistics View. When starting the program, Brief view is shown and other two views are also available. Your custom edition can include them all or only one.
Actions: History, Plugin manager, Pause/Stop. These actions are available by default, but can be removed if you don't want to offer them in your custom version.
Other options: One touch backup, plug-and-backup, scheduler, before/after actions, strong encryption. These are some other features from the Backup2 programs that can be removed if needed from your custom version.
Practically almost every feature in this program can be kept or removed depending on your choice.

As an example of a custom edition of Backup2 FTP, we can create a version which can back up from the sources you choose only to particular FTP addresses, using the backup types of your choice.
